Default Double clicking to remove a maintained enchantment

would it break the game if i was able to press one button in order to remove an enchantment? having to hover over and double click the skill is depressing. it discourages me to use enchants such as aura of displacement.

i suggest being able to just hit the skill again and it revert to cooldown

for example: i cast aura of displacement, hit it again and cooldown begins.

ps: CLICKING SUCKS.

i would suggest changing the title of your post to "Double clicking to remove a maintained enchantment.." would clear up the thread a lot. 2 taps isn't a lot of work and it is right on your skill bar for removal. changing it at this point doesn't really work to be honest. i like your idea, but to implement something like that now is counter-intuitive.

And how would this mechanic work for monks who want to bond multiple targets? With the system you have in mind, they wouldn't be able to, if pressing the skill button again removes the enchantment and sends it to cooldown.

ps: l2p better, put the maintained enchantment monitor somewhere easier for you to click on

By the way, removing a "buff" like maintained enchantments in Guild Wars is easier than all and every mmo out there. Most mainstream MMO's (you know the ones you gotta pay for, WoW, EverQuest II, etc...) you have to actually stress your finger out and *gasp* right click and select cancel buff.

So you got it easy in this game already, kiddo.

Are you telling me that you can't spend the less than half second it takes to move the mouse over the enchantment and double click?
Thats just sad...

If the system in place now works fine the other 99.99999999% of us, why would they want to try and change it?

By the way - you can target allies and enemies, call that target, use skills and move with your keyboard. When you move the mouse *gasp* the mouse to an maintained enchantment, and *gasp gasp* doubleclick it WHILE you perform any of the mentioned actions with the keyboard, you won't lose any time with *gasp* clicking.

Drag the mainained enchantments frame to a better position. GW has the best and most costomizeable standard interface imo.

obviously if this idea were to be implemented it would be expanded on, and surely work for all situations/characters

I don't see a reason why there shouldn't be an option to be able to remove an enchantment with a single click on the symbol instead of two.

I forget, are mouses with double-click buttons allowed by Anet? If so, there's your solution.

If it's easily implementable I have no problem with it, but I definitely don't think it justifies using much resources. It's fairly low on my want list.

calling people idiot when you are making a suggestion isn't really the best course of action. even if the guy was condescending.

This would work for single target only bond enchants.

While its not essential, it would definately be a huge bonus for PvP. I'm referring to Holy Veil here, there are times when clicking is simply too slow to react to stuff thats going on, a hotkey would be sweet.

He was being both wrong and condescending. The OP's behavior was completely justified.

I dont think this is extremely important , but it would be pretty handy. Having a kotkey instead of a double click for stopping holy veil could sometimes make a difference, like in ra occasionally i remove a cover hex instead of the backfire/shame etc.

This is actually something I noticed to be odd when I first started the game (took me awhile to figure out how to drop retribution on my R/mo). So I guess I would say I'm for a change except people have gotten so used to this double clicking method I don't think changing it this late in the game's life would do more good than be an annoyance. If maintainable effects make an appearance in GW2 then I do hope they give us a smoother method of dropping them.

For the time being, if double clicking is difficult for you then go to mouse options and adjust the double click speed. Resizing the maintained 'chants on UI might also help.

Having to mouse over then double click veil to cancel it oftentimes can take long enough to defeat the point of having the instant strip of veil (catching the real hex not a cover hex).
